Best Times For Virginia Beach Fishing Charter Adventures

By John Murray

If you are thinking about taking a Virginia Beach fishing charter than you are thinking about having a great adventure. If you go during the spring you are bound to catch flounder, croaker, bluefish or many more. You can also go out during May and catch black drum that is said to be as much as 80 pounds during this month.

Summer is a great season to take out a charter in this area. This is because there are so many different types of fish that you can catch. If you love tuna and other fish then you will have a great time during this period.

Summer is popular for offshore fishing and catching tuna. When you take a fishing charter make sure you get a good captain that will watch the satellite shots so that you can get where the good tuna is. The captain should have good equipment that will be able to tell him where the good spots are.

There are several fishing areas that you can go to. The Weather Buoy is nice, as well as the Norfolk Canyon. They are about 75 miles off of the coast of Virginia Beach. There are also other areas that are nice to go to and have really productive fishing like near the canyon walls and the Norfolk Canyons.

Late August and September usually have great tuna fishing. Once the temperatures in the water begin to drop in October, though, the fishing is just not as productive. The season for striped bass is still good, though, because they tend to migrate down the East Coast from November to about March.

Whether you just love the ocean or love to fish, a Virginia Beach fishing charter is something that should not be missed. You should not be disappointed. It is a beautiful area and it has a wealth of fish to catch. Invite your friends for a fun day on the ocean, you will have a great time.
