No Man of Her Own - Pompous production based on Cornell Woolrich book of Helen Ferguson (Stanwyck) assuming another's identity and becoming part of a fmaily. Later in the movie she is being blackmailed by her ex-boyfriend. Cast includes Barbara Stanwyck, John Lund, Jane Cowl, Phyllis Thaxter, and Richard Denning. (98 minutes, 1950)

Danny Boy - Ambitious even if arrogant, inexorably dull melodrama of sax player Rea, who trades his sax for a gun after observing a triple killing. This was Jordan's directorial debut, which he as well did the screenplay. He and leading guy Rea later reteamed for The Weeping Game.

Scam - Ex-con Bracco and egocentric ex-fed Walken form a stormy tie to swindle a bunch in underworld money. This could-be erotic thriller was made for theatrical release however premiered on cable. Cast includes Christopher Walken, Lorraine Bracco, Miguel Ferrer, Martin Donovan, and Danie Von Bargen.

The Gorgeous Hussy - Stars fill the cast list in this fictionalized historical drama of Peggy O'Neal, President Andrew Jackson's secret lover. The cast is magnificently costumed in well assigned settings. The film is based on the work of fiction by Samuel Hopkins Joyce. Cast includes Joan Crawford, Robert Taylor, Lionel Barrymore, Franchot Tone, Melvyn Douglas, James Stewart, Alison Skipworth, Beulah Bondi, and Gene Lockhart.

Gordon's War - When a Vietnam vet comes home to find his wife caught on medications, he trains a gentleman army to extinguish the pushers. Outstanding action, although gets lost toward the end. Cast includes Paul Winfield, Carl Lee, David Downing, and Tony Baron.

Shooter - Retired Marine Corp Sniper Bob Lee Swagger is asked to come to Washington, to help pursue another sniper that will seek to execute the President. What happens to him next is a full-blown shock. The same US government people that he is helping are in fact setting him up to take the fall for the killing. He somehow escapes when he is shot, and is now on the run. He is also set to fight back.

Lilies of the Field - A "little" motion picture that made first-rate, triumphing Poitier an Oscar as handyman who helps to raise a chapel for Skala and German-talking nuns. Cast includes Sidney Poitier, Lilia Skala, Lisa Mann, Isa Crino, and Stanley Adams.

Married To The Mob - Angela deMarco is married to hoodlum Frank deMarco. When Frank passes away, Angela wants to break away from the mob and start again. Instead she discovers herself being followed by the FBI.

Michael - A set of incredulous reporters and a phony "angel" find that a dotty old woman's claim that the archangel Michael is living with her is real. Michael, however, turns out not to be your typical angel. Amiable, sardonic motion picture by no means goes where you foresee and takes its time getting there, however the journey is alluring, and Travolta, as the sleazy, randy Michael, is faultlessly cast. Cast includes John Travolta, Andie MacDowell, William Hurt, Robert Pastorelli, Bob Hoskins, Jean Stapleton, Teri Garr, Wally Ward, Joey Lauren Adams, Carla Gugino, Tom Hodges, and Wallace Langham.

The General - One of Keaton's best silent motion pictures, setting comedy different to real Civil Battle account of a stolen train, and Union spies. Not as fanciful as other Keaton films, although delightfully complete. Cast includes Buster Keaton, Marion Mack, Glen Cavender, Jim Farley, and Joseph Keaton.
