Seattle Festivals During The Alaska Cruise Season

Extended Stay Hotels

Situated on Puget Sound, Seattle is expecting to host thousands of cruise travellers between the months of April to September bound for Alaska. Golden Princess, Norwegian Star, Oosterdam, Sun Princess, and Vision of the Seas are just some of the beautiful ships that will be departing towards this destination from the Emerald City Port.

Because of Seattle's moderate climate and geography combination of ocean and mountains, visitors to this port city can enjoy outdoor activities such as sailing, scuba diving, golfing, whale watching, fishing, and rock climbing. There are also marketplaces, sidewalk cafes, art galleries, restaurants, boutiques and night clubs close to the port if you just want to explore the city itself.

If you have booked a cruise to Alaska, think about extending your stay in Seattle. Why? Because in the summertime, Seattle's festival season is in full swing!

June Solstice Parade June 16 & 17, 2007 - This Parade celebrates the beginning and summer and kicks off of the Fremont Fair. "Now in its 35th year, Fremont Fair returns to celebrate the Summer Solstice and the best of our community: art, spirit, sharing, celebration and working together to help each other. During Fair weekend, people from all walks of life come together to shop, eat, drink, perform, smile, dance, run, converse, debate, groove and parade." Getting There: Map and Transportation.

Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival July 1 - 4, 2007 - "You will enjoy live music, food vendors and plenty of classic wooden boats ranging from motorized launches and runabouts to sailboats, rowing craft and large cruisers. The kids will enjoy making their own toy boat and sailing models in the sailing pond. In past years, the festival has exhibited many of the vintage hydroplanes that have raced and won at SeaFair." Bumbershoot Seattle's Music & Arts Festival Labor Day Weekend September 1–3, 2007 - "Bumbershoot is more than just great music.
